SECOND CANNABIS TRIAL ANNOUNCED

Following the recent announcement of a large Goverment - funded clinical trial to investigate the effect of cannabis on MS (TeaMSpirit December 1999), a second commercially-run trial has been announced by GW Pharmaceuticals.

GW Pharmaceuticals are the first commercial organisation to be given a UK licence to reseach and develop cannabis-based medicines on people with MS, spinal injuries and chronic pain.

The trial is to be carried out at a number of locations. While it will initially involve only a small number of people, it is expected that some 2,000 people will eventually take part in the programme over the next two years.
